Intelligent Automation, Inc. is a dynamic and growing R&D organization headquartered in Rockville, Maryland conducting state of the art research and product development in the fast evolving areas of Distributed Intelligent Systems, Education & Training, Robotics, Networks and Control. The Robotics and Electro-Mechanical Systems group is looking for an individual with a PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in robotics/autonomous behavior. Strong communication, presentation and writing skills is a must. Extensive experience with Java and/or C++ programming is required. Experience in autonomous behavior, multi-agent programming, multi-robot teams, human-robot interaction, robot simulation engines, wireless networks, network routing protocols and/or embedded systems is highly desirable. Responsibilities will include guiding a team of 5 - 10 engineers in the design, implementation, and testing of mobile robot software and robotics-related algorithms. Management experience is preferred but not required. The desired candidate will have a strong academic background. Experience in technical and teaming aspects of proposal preparation for government contracts is a must. Us permanent residency is required. IAI is an EEO/AA employer.

Software Engineer

Description

This individual would be working onsite at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.
Must have a BS degree (or equivalent experience) and minimum 2 years related software engineering and development experience that includes a strong understanding and background in distributed systems applications and object-oriented design technologies.
Must have experience with Visual C and/or JAVA, XML
Ability to analyze existing code, perform refactoring and general software maintenance
Ability to interact with stakeholders, internal users, customers, and partners to fulfill research software requirements and to effectively comunicate software development and test status
Must have additional experience in one or moe of hte following technical areas:
- Object-oriented programming
- Distributed modeling and simulation computing systems
- Database architecture and design
- Graphical User Interface design
- Open GL and/or High Level Architecture (HLA) Run-time Infrastructure (RTI)
- Data warehousing and/or data mining
- Server virtualization

Research scientist/ engineer

Description

IAI is looking for highly self-motivated candidates to fill multiple positions of Research Scientist / Research Engineer. The candidates will participate in the design, implementation, and testing of prototypes as part of a wide range of research in networks and security. Projects include new network protocols, wireless networks, network management, cyber security techniques, etc. Successful applicants will work on a variety of interesting research projects with real-world applications.

Qualifications include:
- BS, MS or PhD in CS, EE or related field

- Knowledge of wireless networks and network protocols (TCP/IP, IPv6, DNS, BGP, OLSR, etc.)

- Knowledge of cyber security techniques and attacks

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team

- Good writing and communication skills

- US citizen or permanent resident strongly preferred

One or more of the following are a plus:

- Ability to develop prototypes in C/C and other languages
